Provider Portal: Who Can Access What?

Overview

AppVentory Channels provides a structured role-based model to ensure that each user has the right level of visibility and control across the platform. Roles determine what a user can view, edit, manage, or configure across all partner, program, and operational modules. There are four primary roles available in the Provider Portal:

  • Owner
  • Admin
  • Manager
  • User


Each role progressively limits access, from unrestricted visibility and configuration rights (Owner) to basic read-only (User). 


Role Definitions

Owner

The Owner role grants unrestricted access across the entire platform, including:

  • All pages and features
  • Full editing, configuration, and management capabilities
  • Complete visibility into financial and non-financial data
  • Full access to subscription and billing details


This role typically belongs to the account creator or business owner responsible for overall governance.


Admin

The Admin role provides full access to all functionalities, with the exception of subscription and financial billing pages. Admins can:

  • Manage partners, programs, campaigns, and deals
  • Access all analytics, insights, and performance reports
  • Configure system-level and partnership-level features
  • Manage assets, directories, and co-branded materials


This role is ideal for operational or channel managers who handle daily platform activities.


Manager

The Manager role offers a combination of restricted access and ownership-based access:

  • Read-only rights for most platform areas
  • No access to financial pages or platform-level settings
  • Full access only to partners, referrals, deals, or co-branded assets that are specifically assigned to them
  • Ability to view partner insights (read-only for ongoing month)


This role is appropriate for team members responsible for specific partners or deal pipelines.


User

The User role is the most restricted and provides:

  • Read-only access to most non-financial pages
  • No access to settings, integrations, automation, or financial sections
  • Limited visibility only to general partner performance insights (read-only for the ongoing month)


This role is suited for contributors who need visibility but are not responsible for execution or platform management.
