What you get

A process people use because it is faster than going around it.

Steps

Go to Settings → App Catalog.
Turn on the request types you want: Access Request and Procurement Request can each be enabled independently.
Set the preview assets — how the catalogue and the two forms look to your people.
Invite catalogue members. Anyone not invited cannot request, which is a reasonable place to start with a pilot team.
Preview the employee experience and confirm the request options you enabled are visible and clear.

Getting it used

Three things make the difference between a process and a page nobody opens:

Speed. Approve within a day. The first time someone waits a week they go back to the card.
Recommended done well. If the tool people want is already in Recommended, the request is one click and the answer is yes. Steer with the list, not with rejections.
A reason on every rejection. One line. It stops the request coming back and teaches the alternative.

What it does to your spend

The approval flow gives the organisation a chance to check an existing app before another tool is bought. It does not replace the normal inventory, spend or renewal data flows; it adds governance before the purchase.
