Read your spend overview

Understand what is mapped, waiting for review, unmapped or archived before you rely on app-level spend.

What you get

A clear view of which imported transactions are already tied to applications and which still need review before they can support reliable software-spend analysis.

The four tabs

Go to Spend Overview. Every transaction sits in one of four states.

  • Mapped — Matched to an app and counting towards its cost
  • Needs Review — AppVentory has suggested an app and wants you to confirm
  • Unmapped — No match found
  • Archived — Deliberately excluded from your totals

A healthy account is not one where Unmapped is always zero. Non-software expenses can legitimately stay unmapped; the important thing is that software costs are not being left behind there.

Reading the ledger

Each row carries the vendor, description, date, amount, chart of accounts and source organisation. Mapped By tells you whether AppVentory matched it or a person did — useful when a number looks wrong and you need to know who decided.

Filter by amount to see where the money actually is. The top twenty transactions usually explain most of your bill.

What a healthy screen looks like

Needs Review empty. Unmapped stable rather than growing. If Needs Review is filling up, that is a few minutes of work that sharpens every cost figure in the product — see Match your spend to the right apps.
