How User Roles Work in the Partner Portal

    Overview

    In AppVentory Channels, user access is controlled through predefined roles, each designed to ensure users only have access to the areas and data relevant to their responsibilities. This article explains the four available roles, their access levels, and provides a detailed permissions matrix outlining what each role can view or manage across the platform.

    Overview of Roles

    Role Description
    Owner Grants unrestricted access to all functionalities, including every page, dataset, and system settings.
    Admin Provides full access to all functionalities, with the exception of financial data.
    Manager Offers read-only access to most functionalities (excluding financial data and settings) and full access only to assigned data (e.g., assigned Deals or Referrals).
    User Provides read-only access to most functionalities (excluding financial data and settings).

    • Indicates Limited or Conditional Access based on assignment or data visibility rules.
    • Indicates No Access to the pages or functionality 
    • Owners and Admins have the most control over user management, portal, configuration, and integrations.
    • Managers are typically responsible for handling assigned partner data or campaign-related tasks, with limited permissions to modify system-wide settings. 
    • Users are intended for view-only purposes, giving visibility into relevant business operations without modification rights. 

    Best Practices

    • Assign the Owner or Admin role only to trusted individuals who require complete visibility or control.
    • Use the Manager role for team leads or coordinators who need to manage specific partners, campaigns, or deals.
    • Assign the User role for team members who only need to view information and monitor progress without editing access.
